As you may have taken the route map, now a marathon was on the program - no more and no less ... However, well-peppered with a height of 2,000 meters. It should be the most difficult and yet most beautiful stage. As always, we started at the crack of dawn, from the quiet village of San Vigilio.
The track was initially quite comfortably uphill - about 13km. Then we went into the mountain and although heavy. A very steep climb with many switchbacks led us to the first climb of the day, well 2300 meters above sea level. There we are then run on a really great plateau - with glorious views of the surrounding mountains. It was great for us. Then we went back down to a beautiful mountain lake - lay it like a mirror in the middle. After we went back to derVerpflegung the next mountain and here it should then contact one for us. The increase was again extremely steep, with many common steps of about 50 cm high - that was properly in the legs ... reached the top we had to back down and heavy with the legs.
It drew endlessly until the next supply station - 350 meters as fast times are also a kilometer. Eventually we had the difficult Downhill path behind us and were then let it roll on the last 5km asphalt again. Since we can run surprisingly well - in proportion to the Trailspezis ... After 5:31, we are well through the finish - in fact our longest ever run marathon:)
But it did really well, know that now only stood before the last stage in the destination Sesto. We also have with the 19 Place our best finish in the men lying down - even madness. Now we are looking forward to tomorrow and the infinite past but now the 33km 310km total distance.
